The obvious answer is to take her to a pediatrician to make sure this is nothing physically wrong. I only say that because that's what all the advice columnist say to do first.
Not being an expert on children and only being an expert on introversion by the virtue of being one, my guess is she's mentally and maybe emotionally overwhelmed.
If she's like me, her brain is constantly hungry for information. She can't get enough. Unfortunately, introvert brains are limited in the amount of stimulation they can comfortably take in. Adrenaline often kicks in to allow the brain to keep going even though it's taken in as much as it can comfortably handle. When this happens to me, which is pretty much all the time, it can be tough to fall asleep. The brain, high on adrenaline, just wants to keep going.
I think that even though your daughter is thoroughly enjoying herself, she might be getting too much intellectual stimulation from learning or too much emotional stimulation by trying to interact with all the classmates she's friendly with. It might be more than she can handle, even though it seems fun at the time.
My advice would be to help her learn to pace herself and to maybe try to take a nap after school, if possible. That might help her recharge and rest her brain so the adrenaline doesn't have to help her keep going through the evening.
Hope this helps,
Ron
